This Policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with our website, native app, Web Port, accounts, gameplay, purchases, and support. Availability of particular features may vary by platform and testing phase.This Policy provides information about our practices. It does not replace any separate consent required by law. Our Terms of Service describe the rules for using Ashbound.2. INFORMATION WE COLLECTAccount information. We collect the email address, username, character name, authentication information, and account status needed to create, secure, and operate your account. Authentication records include a password hash and session or recovery information; keep your password private.Gameplay information. We store character progression, skills, equipment, inventory, in-game currency, combat and activity history, crafting, trades, marketplace activity, guild participation, housing, achievements, rewards, and similar records needed to operate a persistent multiplayer game.Communications and support. We collect messages, guild or party communications, mail, reports, feedback, moderation records, and information you provide when contacting us. Screenshots or diagnostic details you choose to submit may contain personal information. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, government identifiers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.Technical information. Our service and hosting providers process information such as IP addresses or security-derived identifiers, browser or device information, app version, request and login timestamps, session activity, errors, and performance or security logs. This helps deliver the service, troubleshoot failures, and investigate abuse. If you enable a supported notification feature, we may process notification settings and the device or delivery identifiers needed to send it.Purchase information. Where purchases are enabled, the applicable payment provider collects the payment and billing information needed for the transaction. For Google Play purchases, we receive or process records such as product identifiers, order references, purchase verification data, subscription status, refunds, and entitlement history. We do not directly collect or store full payment-card numbers or card security codes in Ashbound's purchase systems.Where enabled, web purchases use Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe/Link handles checkout and transaction information under its own privacy notices. We receive the transaction, subscription, and entitlement information needed to verify and deliver purchases, manage renewals and cancellations, reconcile refunds and disputes, and provide support. Full payment-card numbers and card security codes are entered with the payment provider, not Ashbound.3. COOKIES AND LOCAL DEVICE STORAGEThe Web Port uses a necessary browser cookie to maintain your signed-in session. It also uses browser storage for preferences and features such as saved interface state, drafts, and recovery of interrupted actions. The native app may store authentication state, settings, and cached game resources on your device.Hosting and security services may use technical storage needed to serve and protect the website. You can control cookies and site storage through your browser and app settings. Clearing or blocking them may sign you out, reset preferences, remove local drafts, or prevent features from working. A payment provider or external site may use its own cookies when you visit it; its privacy notice applies to that processing. Where consent is required for optional storage or processing, we will request it separately.4. HOW WE USE INFORMATIONWe use information to create and authenticate accounts; provide gameplay and multiplayer features; save progress; verify purchases and deliver entitlements; administer subscriptions, refunds, and service credits; respond to support requests; send relevant service or security notices; diagnose problems and improve the service; investigate cheating, fraud, harassment, and security incidents; enforce our Terms; and meet legal obligations.Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement with you for requested game services and purchases, legitimate interests in securing and maintaining the service where those interests are not overridden by your rights, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. You may withdraw consent for consent-based processing without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.5. HOW INFORMATION IS SHAREDWe do not sell your personal information.Service providers. We use providers for hosting, infrastructure, communications, security, and payment-related services. The public site is hosted through Carrd, and game infrastructure is hosted through Railway. Providers receive information needed for their role. Some act on our behalf; others, such as app stores or a merchant of record, have independent responsibilities and process information under their own terms and privacy notices.Other players. Information such as your character name, avatar, guild affiliation, public profile, achievements, rankings, marketplace listings, and multiplayer actions may be visible to other players according to the feature's design and available settings. Messages are visible to their intended recipients or audiences. We may access communications when needed for support, moderation, security, or legal compliance; private game messages are not a confidential professional communication service.Legal and safety purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our agreements, or protect people and the service.Business changes. If the business or relevant assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, information may be disclosed or transferred with appropriate protections and any notice required by law.Your instructions. We may share information when you direct us to do so or give valid consent.6. RETENTIONWe keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. Retention depends on factors such as whether your account is active, whether records are needed to maintain game integrity or resolve a dispute, and applicable legal or accounting requirements. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful exceptions and backup cycles.Account deletion does not necessarily remove every transaction, moderation, security, or audit record immediately. Some communications may remain in other players' records, and some information may be retained where necessary and lawful. We do not retain information solely because storage is available.7. YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTSContact [email protected] to request access, correction, or deletion of account information, or to ask a privacy question. Include the email address associated with your account and, if useful, your character name. Do not include your password. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a copy of information in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision concerning a privacy request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any applicable limitation. You may contact a relevant data-protection authority about a concern. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.Deleting an account may permanently remove access to its character, progress, and virtual benefits. Cancel recurring subscriptions with the billing provider before deletion or ask us for help; deleting an app is not the same as canceling billing. Where a third party independently controls information, you may also need to submit a request directly to it.You can change supported notification and preference settings in the game or your device. We may still send essential account, security, transaction, or legal notices where appropriate.8. CHILDREN AND TEEN USERSAshbound is not intended for children under 13. Users must be at least 13 and meet any higher age or consent requirements that apply where they live. Our Terms require minors to have a parent or legal guardian's permission.We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will take appropriate steps to restrict access and delete the information, except where retention is required by law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information should contact [email protected]. Parental permission for a teen does not remove other protections required by applicable law.9. SECURITYWe use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, including access controls and protections for authentication and purchase-verification records. No online service or transmission method is completely secure. Keep credentials private and contact us promptly if you suspect an account compromise.10. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSINGBattle Scar Games LLC is based in Florida, United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use the required protections. Contact us for information about relevant transfer arrangements.11. EXTERNAL SERVICESGoogle Play, Discord, Facebook, and other sites or services you choose to visit have their own privacy practices. Merely linking to a service does not give us control over its processing. Review its notice before providing information. Stripe/Link privacy information is available through the web payment flow.12. CHANGES AND CONTACTWe may update this Policy as our services and practices change. We will update the effective date and provide notice of material changes through appropriate channels, with separate consent where legally required. ABOUT THESE TERMSThese Terms govern your use of Ashbound, including its game clients, web application, website, accounts, multiplayer features, and related services operated by Battle Scar Games LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). They form an agreement between you and Battle Scar Games LLC when you affirmatively accept them during registration or another acceptance process. If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue using services that require acceptance.Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain information. It is available at https://playashbound.com/#privacy. Accepting these Terms does not replace any separate consent required by privacy law.2. AGE AND ELIGIBILITYYou must be at least 13 years old to use Ashbound. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age or additional permission, you must satisfy those requirements as well. Ashbound is not intended for children under 13.If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms and permit your use of Ashbound. A parent or guardian accepting these Terms on a minor's behalf agrees to supervise that use to the extent permitted by applicable law. A minor may make purchases only with the permission of a parent or guardian and the authorized payment-method holder.Provide accurate eligibility information. Do not misrepresent your age or evade age restrictions. Ashbound contains dark-fantasy themes, fictional violence, competitive gameplay, and interaction with other players. Parents and guardians should consider whether the game is suitable for a particular minor.3. ACCOUNTS AND SECURITYProvide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials secure. Do not sell, rent, or transfer your account or permit another person to impersonate you. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. We may request reasonable verification before restoring access or changing account information.You are responsible for your own activity and for activity you authorize through your account. These Terms do not make you automatically responsible for every unauthorized action by a third party. We may temporarily restrict an account when reasonably necessary to investigate compromise, fraud, or other security risks.4. PERMISSION TO USE ASHBOUNDSubject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable permission to access and use Ashbound for entertainment. Battle Scar Games LLC and its licensors retain their rights in the game software, artwork, writing, audio, branding, and other game materials. Your use does not transfer ownership of those materials.Do not copy, redistribute, commercially exploit, or reverse engineer the service except where we expressly permit it or applicable law gives you a right to do so. Nothing here restricts rights that cannot legally be restricted by contract.5. FAIR PLAY AND COMMUNITY CONDUCTDo not use Ashbound to:• Cheat, automate gameplay through unauthorized bots or scripts, manipulate requests, or bypass access controls.
• Exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage, duplicate assets, interfere with the economy, or harm other players. Report significant exploits privately to our support address.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against, sexually exploit, or otherwise abuse other people, including minors.
• Publish another person's private information, impersonate staff, defraud players, send spam, or distribute malware.
• Submit unlawful content or content that violates another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
• Attack the service, intentionally overload it, evade a suspension, or interfere with other players' access.
• Sell accounts, game currency, items, or services for real-world money through unauthorized channels, or arrange prohibited off-platform exchanges.Player-versus-player combat, theft mechanics, guild conflicts, and other adversarial actions expressly supported by the game's rules are gameplay activities. They do not excuse harassment, cheating, fraud, or other prohibited conduct outside those mechanics.6. PLAYER CONTENT AND COMMUNICATIONSYou retain any rights you hold in content you submit, such as messages, guild descriptions, and feedback. You give us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, reproduce, format, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the service. This permission does not authorize us to use private messages as advertising testimonials without separate permission.Content you share with other players may remain in recipients' records or necessary moderation, security, backup, and legal records as described in our Privacy Policy. Do not submit content you lack the right to share. We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms. We do not guarantee that we will review every message before it becomes visible.7. GAME PROGRESS AND VIRTUAL BENEFITSCharacters, progress, in-game currency, items, cosmetics, service credits, and other virtual benefits are features of the service. Except for rights expressly provided by law, they have no cash-redemption value and do not represent ownership of real-world assets or funds held for you. Transfers are available only where the game's authorized systems allow them.A purchase grants the usage rights described in its offer. Account-wide, character-specific, and guild-bound products have different scopes; review the scope and any selected recipient before purchasing. Buying a guild-bound benefit does not give you personal ownership of the guild or a right to move that benefit when guild membership or leadership changes."Permanent" cosmetics mean that they have no scheduled entitlement expiration during the operation of the applicable service. They do not guarantee that Ashbound will operate forever. Refunds, payment reversals, or enforcement measures may affect access as explained below and subject to applicable law.8. PURCHASES AND DIGITAL DELIVERYPaid products are available only where an official storefront offers an enabled purchase flow. A preview or "coming soon" listing is not an active purchase offer. Web purchases use the enabled checkout offered in the Ashen Vault. Availability may vary by account, product, and supported location.Before payment, the purchase flow will identify the product, its scope, price, currency, applicable taxes, and any recurring billing. Only use a payment method you are authorized to use. Ashbound confirms purchases through server-side payment verification and then delivers the corresponding digital entitlement to the appropriate account, character, or guild. Delivery normally follows verification, but payment processing, outages, or verification issues may delay it. Contact support if a completed purchase is missing; include the order reference, not full card details or passwords.Google Play purchases are subject to the applicable Google Play terms. Web purchases use Stripe Managed Payments. The checkout and receipt identify the merchant of record, and purchases may appear as "Sold through Link." The payment provider's transaction terms apply to that purchase. Battle Scar Games LLC remains the operator of Ashbound and the contact for gameplay and product support. A payment provider's separate terms do not reduce rights you have under mandatory law.Product availability and prices may change for future purchases. Subscription changes are handled under Section 9. No future product, feature, or release is included unless the purchase offer expressly says so.9. ASHEN COVENANT AND COVENANT SEALSAn Ashen Covenant recurring subscription renews at the interval and price disclosed before purchase until canceled. Before you subscribe, the purchase flow must explain the charge amount, billing frequency, renewal terms, cancellation method, and any trial or promotional conditions, and obtain the required agreement to recurring charges.Cancel through the provider that billed you: Google Play subscription management for Google Play purchases, or the subscription-management option identified in your web checkout or receipt for web purchases. For Web Port purchases, you can cancel Covenant renewal in Ashen Vault → Web purchases and Covenant renewal. Link also provides subscription management for purchases made through Stripe Managed Payments. You may also contact [email protected] for assistance. Cancel before the next renewal to prevent that renewal charge. Cancellation normally preserves access through the already-paid coverage period unless a refund, reversal, or other lawful adjustment applies. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel recurring billing before requesting account deletion, or ask support for assistance doing so.A Covenant Seal is a separate, one-time purchase for exactly 30 days of Covenant coverage. It does not automatically renew. Under the current product design, it adds coverage after existing coverage; check the coverage dates shown for your account. A recurring monthly subscription follows its provider's billing calendar and is not necessarily an exact 30-day period.Membership benefits, restrictions, and what happens when coverage ends must be described in the storefront. Do not assume that a purchase on one platform cancels a subscription on another platform. Review existing subscriptions before starting another one.We will communicate material subscription price or benefit changes before they apply, provide a way to cancel, and obtain additional consent where required. We will not treat these Terms alone as permission to impose a new recurring charge.10. REFUNDS AND PAYMENT DISPUTESYour refund rights depend on applicable law, the purchase offer, and the rules of the provider identified on your receipt. These Terms do not impose a blanket "no refunds" rule or waive statutory rights concerning defective, missing, or misdescribed digital products.Contact the billing provider through the options on your receipt, or contact [email protected] with the order reference and a description of the issue. For purchases sold through Link, transaction support is available at https://support.link.com/topics/sold-through-link. Stripe may issue refunds under its Managed Payments terms independently of our review. Contacting us first is not a condition of exercising legal or payment-dispute rights.A refunded or reversed purchase may result in removal of the associated cosmetic, service credit, or paid coverage, to the extent appropriate and lawful. We will not revoke unrelated purchases solely because one transaction is disputed. Filing a good-faith refund request or payment dispute is not itself prohibited conduct. Deliberate payment fraud may be investigated under these Terms.Any separate consent legally required for immediate digital delivery or a change to a withdrawal right must be obtained in the purchase flow. Merely accepting these Terms does not waive such a right.11. DEVELOPMENT, UPDATES, AND SERVICE AVAILABILITYAshbound is an evolving online game. We may update content, balance, interfaces, supported devices, and technical requirements. Maintenance, failures, and third-party service interruptions may affect availability. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or that every reported bug will be fixed immediately.Some explicitly identified test environments may use temporary progress or scheduled resets. Any such conditions should be disclosed before participation. A general beta label is not a waiver of rights relating to a real-money purchase. If a planned change, reset, or shutdown affects paid access, we will explain its effect and provide any notice, remedy, or refund required by applicable law and the purchase terms.12. MODERATION, SUSPENSION, AND ACCOUNT CLOSUREWe may investigate reports, remove prohibited content, correct exploit-derived gains, or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a breach of these Terms, protect players, comply with law, or secure the service. We will consider the seriousness of the issue and may use warnings, temporary restrictions, or account closure. Immediate action may be necessary for serious abuse, security risks, or legal obligations.Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will explain a restriction and provide a way to request review. Send review requests to [email protected]. We may withhold information that would compromise another person's privacy, security controls, or an ongoing investigation. Enforcement does not remove rights you have under mandatory law.You may stop using Ashbound and request account deletion through the contact process in our Privacy Policy. Deletion may permanently remove access to progress and virtual benefits. Billing cancellation and legally required retention of some records are addressed separately in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICESGoogle Play, Discord, payment providers, and other external services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control those services. These Terms do not replace your agreement with them, and we remain responsible for obligations imposed on us by applicable law.14. WARRANTIES AND RESPONSIBILITYTo the extent permitted by applicable law, Ashbound is provided on an "as available" basis without additional implied warranties beyond those required by law or expressly promised in a purchase offer. We do not guarantee that player conduct or third-party services will always be safe or uninterrupted.Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury, or any mandatory consumer guarantee, refund right, or other statutory remedy. The extent of any responsibility for a particular loss is subject to applicable law.15. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTESTo the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, United States, without applying conflict-of-law rules. This choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections or the right to bring a claim in a court available under the law where that consumer lives.You may contact [email protected] to try to resolve a concern informally. This is optional and does not delay a legal deadline or restrict available remedies. These Terms do not require binding arbitration or waive class-action rights.16. CHANGES TO THESE TERMSWe may update these Terms as the service changes. We will publish an updated effective date and provide notice of material changes through an appropriate service channel. Where required, we will ask you to accept the updated Terms before they apply. Changes will not retroactively remove rights that already arose or authorize additional charges without required consent.If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
